The Portal (Premium plan)

The Portal lets you group a selection of your ownMap maps behind a single, personalized link, with your own visual identity (logo, colors). This is useful if you manage several buildings or several maps and want to give your visitors a single entry point instead of sharing each map separately.

Enabling the Portal​

From the "My maps" page, click the "Manage portal" button in the top right.

The portal can be enabled or disabled at any time via the "Public portal" switch. When disabled, the portal link is no longer accessible to visitors.

General information​

Two fields let you customize the portal page:

  • Title: the main title shown on the portal page.
  • Subtitle: additional text shown below the title.

Access​

The portal is accessible via an address of the form https://www.ownmap.net/portail/<identifier>. This identifier can be changed directly (pencil icon next to the field):

If you change this identifier, previously shared links (including already printed or distributed QR codes) will stop working.

QR Code​

A QR code corresponding to the portal link is generated automatically and can be downloaded (the "Download QR Code" button) — handy for displaying on a physical medium (poster, welcome sign, etc.).

Configuration​

Two buttons let you go further in configuring the portal:

Edit appearance​

Lets you customize the portal page's visual identity:

  • Logo: JPEG, PNG, or SVG image, 500 KB maximum, 200×200 px.
  • Background: solid color (hex format) or image.
  • Page background: solid color or image, independent of the background above.
  • Group color: color used for the map groupings shown on the portal.

A preview ("Preview") lets you see the result before publishing.

Choose maps​

Lets you select, among your maps, which ones appear on the portal (a checkbox per map; "Select all" / "Deselect all" buttons are available to speed things up).

Three additional options:

  • Flat list: shows all selected maps flat, with no grouping.
  • Alphabetical order: sorts maps alphabetically instead of in the order they were added.
  • Show a back-to-portal button on maps: when a visitor reaches a map from the portal, a button lets them easily return to it.
